Business hours are 8:30am – 5:30pm AST.
We are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas; pick-ups and returns are not allowed on these days.
We are open for half-day on July 4th (8:30am – 12:30pm); only vehicle returns that morning are available.
A valid driver’s license is required and must be in hand at the time of rental pick-up. Photocopies of driver’s license are NOT accepted. All drivers must be at least 25 years of age and have a clean driving record.
A reservation is confirmed by email when these terms have been read and accepted and a non-refundable deposit of $150, per vehicle, has been received. Modifications to a reservation may result in a rate change. Lionel Jeep Rental reserves the right to change the reservation to a different vehicle type in the event that a vehicle becomes unavailable.
All reservations booked with Lionel Jeep Rental require a non-refundable $150 deposit.The balance is required to be paid in full 7 days ahead of your arrival and will be charged automatically to the credit card used to make the deposit. If a cancellation is made within 7 days of your arrival, any payments made are non-refundable. All cancellation requests must be done in writing via email at lioneljeeprental@gmail.com. Refunds are only allowed if one of the following conditions are met:
(1) Your vacation is cancelled due to travel restrictions imposed by the U.S. Virgin Islands Government.
(2) Ports are closed in the Virgin Islands due to hurricane or tropical weather.
(3) The vehicle you reserved was involved in an accident and is no longer available.
If a renter does not show up for a reserved vehicle on the arrival day, they are liable and will not be refunded. The renter will forfeit access to the vehicle after 24 hours has passed.
We accept major credit cards including: VISA, MASTER CARD, and DISCOVER. The credit card used to make the deposit will be charged automatically 7 days prior to your arrival. The name on the credit card must match the name on the reservation.
Vehicle pick-up time begins at 11:00 am until 5:30 pm. All rental vehicles must be returned by 10:00 am on the day of return.
Any vehicle returned passed the deadline of 10:00 am will be charged a late fee of $35 per hour. Vehicles returned after 12 noon will be charged for the entire day rate.
If you wish to extend your rental period, you must contact the office before your return date to check availability. Any vehicle returned before the scheduled return date will not be refunded for the remaining days.
As required by US Virgin Islands law, all renters must have rental car coverage.
Drivers listed on the rental agreement is responsible to provide collision & liability insurance on the rented vehicle, either through an acceptable major credit card or personal insurance company.
After hours pick-up is available only by appointment between 5:30pm – 7:30pm and will result in an additional charge of up to $50. Customer’s travel information must be provided when making their reservation including Airline, flight #, and arrival time. Vehicle return before 7:00am will result in additional charge of up to $50. Vehicle return before business hours, must be requested at least 24 hours in advance before your return date.
Shuttle service is offered at Lionel Jeep Rental. The service transports customers to and from our office to the ferry dock and hotels located nearby only. It is a courtesy service. Tipping is at your discretion. We do not shuttle to or from Villas.
Lionel Jeep Rental will provide roadside service during business hours. Depending on the location of the vehicle, a fee of up to $50 will apply for the cost of travel and time. This service includes: lockout service, spare key delivery, battery jump start, and flat tire service. If rental keys are lost, stolen, or wet, the renter is responsible for the cost of a replacement. If a tire is damaged beyond repair due to the Renter’s negligence, the renter will be responsible for the full cost of the tire including delivery and mounting. All vehicles are to remain on paved roads only, with the exception of your place of residence. Roadside service is not offered at Lameshur Bay or if the vehicle is taken to St. Thomas.
Please contact local police in the event of any major emergency. The Renter must contact the police in the event of an accident and must contact Lionel Jeep Rental right after. The renter will be required to fill out an incident report form from Lionel Jeep Rental for insurance purposes.
Vehicles returned with excessive sand, mud, or trash in the interior will be assessed a $60 cleaning fee. To avoid a cleaning fee, please remove trash and vacuum out excessive sand in the car before returning it.
The renter is solely responsible for the safe return of the vehicle in the same condition as it was rented. The renter shall be responsible for all damages, injuries, or death resulting from negligent operation of the vehicle; and shall hold Lionel Jeep Rental harmless and indemnify Lionel of any claim, suit or expenses arising from the negligent operation of the vehicle. The renter shall be responsible for all costs, included but not limited to, parking and traffic citations, towing charges, attorney’s fees, all costs incurred by Lionel Jeep Rental that is associated to damages to a vehicle whether the matter was settled in or out of court; plus, all charges outlined in the Terms and Agreement. Lionel is authorized to charge renter for such fees even after the rented vehicle is returned.
